Kym Mackenzie

Kym has been part of the Bedford family for over 30 years and has fulfilled many of his dreams.

Kym needs extra help to manage everyday life and gain work skills which many of us take for granted. At Bedford Kym has been able to undertake many work opportunitites – ranging from Clerical Officer in Personnel to courier work for the Bedford fundraising team.

Even though these are great achievements, Kym still wanted more! He had a dream of becoming an actor but didn’t believe it would be possible.

Fortunately, the Bedford players persuaded him to join the cast of Dick Whittington and His Cat in 1992 and he has never looked back.

Since this production Kym has become an accomplished actor with appearances in the films Train Runner and Modern Love and numerous plays including Over the Rainbow and Down South. He is also a board member for No Strings Attached theatre company.

Bedford is helping to make Kym’s dreams come true for today, tomorrow and the rest of his life!
