gradGraduation 2011

Bedford celebrated on 15 February when a record number of South Australians with disability or disadvantage entered the open workforce as qualified graduates in business and community services.

The ‘Abilities for All’ programme, the only course of its kind in the State, is led by Bedford in collaboration with the Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology (DFEEST) and Community Housing SA.

The programme provides learning pathways for South Australian job seekers with disability or disadvantage who face significant barriers to learning, training and work. A key strength of the programme is that individual needs are addressed through customised employment and training plans.  Life-skills, coupled with language, literacy and numeracy are delivered in a supportive environment in community centres so that people with disability or disadvantage can realise their full potential.

For information on the 'Abilities for All' programme, please contact Paul Gaertner, Manager - Training & Education on (08) 8275 0361 or pgaertner@bedfordgroup.com.au
