"It is that time of year again, but with a difference - this year, I will have retired from Bedford when the Sunday Mail City-Bay fun run  is on, so I have handed the baton over to a younger, fitter man who is equally dedicated to our great work – Chris Collingwood. Chris heads up APG, our grounds maintenance division which employs 200 people. Chris tells me he is in serious training.

A Message from Chris - our Athlete!

Well it’s that time of year again where I drag my backside out of bed and off the couch to get ready for the City-Bay.  This time I am preparing a bit earlier...and I thought I should really reflect on the reason for entering into this world of hurt....I mean WHY? What possesses someone to go out and run 12 km on a Sunday of all days?

I looked back at the greatest of great runners over the years.....

The Deeks

 The Gumps

 The Homers

The Arnies

The Youngs

Road Runner

The Dyasons

I look at all these runners and say......I am not going to be the first who goes through the pain, I will not be the first who finishes....but I shall be the first who throws a silly request at you asking for your support to raise money for Bedford... Yes that's right....once again I am donning the giant footprint and looking like someone just ran over me....
