Bedford Future Pathway Update - 17 November 2025

Bedford is extremely grateful and relieved to announce today that the Malinauskas Labor Government will provide the organisation with a $15 million support package providing the best chance of a future, protecting the livelihoods of hundreds of South Australians living with disability.

Thank you to the South Australian Government, the Premier and Treasurer for working shoulder to shoulder with us to deliver this outcome over the last 48 hours.

Bedford acknowledge the opportunity to work collectively with McGrathNicol in a bid to secure our future. We strive to forge a new direction to stabilise Bedford whilst remaining focussed on creating more choice and pathways for people with disability in South Australia.

We also acknowledge the unwavering support of our suppliers and customers.

The focus for Bedford now is our people after what has been a very challenging time.

All staff and clients are encouraged to please return to their Bedford site as normal tomorrow, Monday 28 July. Operations and programs across all Bedford’s 22 sites will run as usual.

All Balyana residents will remain in their supported accommodation for the immediate term whilst a plan is developed by Bedford.

We thank our community for their patience as we work hard to inform everyone within the limitations of access to our people on a weekend. More detailed information will be provided to all clients and staff once they return to site from tomorrow.
