We are pleased to introduce you to Jason O’Donohue, General Manager, GreenInc and APG (Adelaide Property and Gardens.)
Jason moved to South Australia almost two decades ago with his young family, and has been with Bedford Group overseeing APG for 16 years. When he arrived from interstate, Jason was looking for a challenge, and hoping to make a meaningful contribution with his work.
Over the years, APG has grown from its humble beginnings, doing odd jobs in residential gardens, to securing ongoing contract work with local council’s and community developments, ensuring job security for growing teams of supported employees.
Jason’s contribution has been key in building the services of APG, who’s core work continues to focus on servicing contracts to provide gardening and maintenance across Adelaide.
He has also played an integral role in the creation of GreenInc – one of Bedford’s first social enterprises. GreenInc’s core work is landscaping construction; the building of community spaces from bare earth up. GreenInc offers employment to people of all abilities, and provides a pathway into open employment, with the opportunity to earn a full award wage.
Overseeing the daily operations of both APG and GreenInc is a huge job, and Jason says that every day is rewarding. He is grateful for the constant learning, and being able to contribute to the ongoing success of both businesses.
When asked what his most memorable moment on the job has been, Jason tells us “We are blessed with an amazing team of people. Providing meaningful employment to so many people, there are just too many memorable moments to list just one!”
As for his greatest career achievement, Jason says, “I think the growth of APG over the years is worth celebrating, along with the creation of GreenInc. Being a part of this growth and development is my biggest achievement during my time at Bedford.”
