Gift joy, choice and more opportunities for people with disability this Christmas!

Bedford-backed GreenInc recently partnered with community developers, Fairland, to build and landscape the recreation space in the brand new community, The Entrance at Angle Vale.

In April this year, Clint Marsh, Deputy Mayor, City of Playford liaised with Fairland and suggested an initiative to bring in some community members to help complete the playground and park green space project, to ensure the community space is ready for when new residents move in.

The GreenInc team were there to support a group of enthusiastic students from Trinity College, Gawler River to plant the final 1,500 new plants in the planned landscape. The students were particularly engaged in the planting activities and willing to get their hands dirty, learn a little about horticulture, and spend the day in the fresh air with friends, working towards a common goal.

Hamish Small, Operations Manager, GreenInc North said that this is a valuable opportunity for young local community members to take ownership in the space, and as it grows they can take pride in knowing they personally contributed to this community asset. "They'll come back in six months or a years time, and all these plants would've grown, they'll be able to come back and see all these plants in full maturity... and and they can tell their friends, their parents they were the first ones here..."

After the planting was complete, the students took the opportunity to 'test out' the playground equipment for the first time, and gave the green light. The Angle Vale Lions Club fired up the BBQ and put on a sausage sizzle for lunch, which capped off a morning of rewarding work and recreation - a great community initiative!

Enjoy a glimpse of the day, and an album of the beautiful space in our gallery below.
