Bedford Learning and Experiences is proud to partner with National Parks & Wildlife Service, SA Water, Forestry SA, Nature Play SA, Reservoirs South Australia, Department for Environment and Water and Friends of Parks to deliver a range of inclusive and accessible outdoor activities for NDIS participants. Whether you're looking to build new skills, boost your confidence, or simply have fun in a natural setting, this program is designed with your interests and abilities in mind.
What’s On Offer?
There’s something for everyone! Our outdoor activities are fully supported and adaptable, so you can feel confident and comfortable while getting involved.
Activities include:
- Guided nature walks through scenic trails and parks
- Camping skills workshops, including tent setup and campfire cooking
- Wildflower spotting and wildlife discovery sessions
- Fossicking and metal detecting for hidden treasures
- Geocaching adventures using GPS
- Kayaking in calm waters with trained support staff
- Snorkelling experiences in safe, accessible locations
- Community volunteering and fundraising opportunities

Where Does It Happen?
Activities take place at various beautiful and accessible outdoor locations across Adelaide, all selected for safety, scenery, and suitability for a range of needs and abilities.
Who can Join?
The program is open to NDIS participants 18 years and above, and support can be tailored to your plan and goals. Whether you are new to outdoor activities or a nature-lover already, you are welcome to join!
Bedford Outdoor Projects
The Bedford Outdoor Projects program offers participants valuable volunteer opportunities focused on environmental conservation and skill development. By aligning with NDIS goals, Bedford Outdoors Projects ensures participants engage in meaningful activities that promote personal growth and employment readiness. Through hands-on volunteering, participants will contribute to their community while building a foundation of work-related skills for future employment opportunities.
Bedford Outdoor Projects connects participants with conservation projects through our valued partnerships with National Parks & Wildlife, SA Water, Forestry SA, and multiple Friends of Parks groups across our state's national parks and conservation areas.
The diverse array of activities include:
- Trail maintenance and habitat restoration in national parks
- Weed control initiatives at SA Water locations
- Construction and monitoring of wildlife habitats
- Native plant propagation
- Supporting wildlife rescue and habitat preservation efforts

Social Saturdays
Get together with Learning and Experiences friends through the Social Saturdays program, where clients can explore Adelaide and participate in activities where having FUN is the top priority. Enjoy a range of activities, including virtual reality, visiting adventure parks, eating some delicious food, and a whole lot more.

Bedford Beats
If you like to sing, dance, listen to music, or simply want to make new friends and have some fun - Bedford Beats is for you!
Musical therapy releases endorphins that can give us energy and lower our stress levels. Not to mention, singing or playing music in a group increases our feeling of well-being, social inclusion and connection.
Music is for everybody. It's an expressive form which connects people to share backgrounds, stories, struggles, memories and future hopes. Bedford Beats welcomes our members to join in any way you are comfortable or able to.

Bedford Beats rehearses Thursday and Friday at the below sites and times.
Elizabeth site: 6pm - 6pm (Fortnightly - Thursday)
Panorama site: 2:30pm - 5:30 pm (Weekly - Friday)
